Is there a standard?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Unfortunately, there is no standard for alternator designations. Therefore, we have compiled the most common ones below.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

B+ goes to positive on the batteries (via a main fuse).<\/p>\n

B- goes to the negative on the batteries, the starter motor, and any earth points.<\/p>\n

D+ receives a magnetising current when the alternator starts.<\/p>\n

Some alternators also have W, which is the tachometer socket, and DF, which is in direct contact with the magnetizing winding of the rotor.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
