Can I be sure that the electrical wiring in my boat is good?
We are often asked whether you can trust that the wiring diagram in the boat is good, and we always give the same answer.
No, it cannot be trusted.
It is often unnecessary to spend time trying to analyze your old system; instead, try to understand what your system should look like.
Then replace the old system.
Do it over, do it right.
Where do I plug in shore power chargers when I have a disconnect relay?
It is connected directly to the consumer batteries. The starter battery does not need shore power support.
How do I size the cables between the batteries?
If you have multiple batteries connected in parallel, these only need to have half the cable cross-sectional area compared to the cable area required to and from the batteries, since not all the current flows through each battery but is instead divided between them.
How can I recognize genuine Skyllermarks cable?
All pre-crimped cable from Skyllermarks bears heat-shrink tubing with the company name on it.
I want cables of a different size than the one available in the shop. How can I do this?
