Pliers for hexagonal crimping 6-50 mm²

Flexible crimping tool for precise crimping of Skyllermark’s 6-50 mm² cable lugs.

This heavy-duty but easy-to-use crimping tool is ideal for those who work with cable lugs in vehicles or electrical installations. With rotating hexagonal jaws, you always get a safe and durable result.

The crimping tool is designed to handle cable sizes between 6 and 50 mm², which covers most people’s needs. Thanks to the integrated hexagonal crimp and the long handles, you get a controlled crimping moment – without loose parts that can fall off. For optimal durability, it is recommended to crimp twice: once at the cable lug hole and once closer to the cable sheath.

Advantages of this crimping tool:

  • Hexagonal crimping (hexagon) for optimal contact and durability
  • Rotating crimp jaws with size selection – no loose parts
  • Ergonomic handle
  • Lightweight yet robust construction
  • Suitable for professional use as well as for the home user

Technical information

Wired and Inspired

As Skyllermarks has advocated for years, the standard also means that all cable lugs/tubular cable lugs that are not soldered must be crimped with the right tool for the specific application – right cable – right lug – right tool! This is to ensure that the coupling follows the correct specifications to fulfil the requirement for connections between cable, terminal and contact point.

Connections, between cable and connector, and between cable and lug, must be able to withstand a certain minimum tensile force without separating (coming apart). The minimum tensile force increases with the size of the cable.

Many people use a polygrip or other pliers to squeeze the cable lugs. This should never be done as you cannot be sure that the coupling can withstand the correct tensile force. If there is/is also a bit of slack, there will be poor contact, which leads to overheating and can, if you are really unlucky, lead to fire.
