Skyllermarks Power Kit 2

Dual Charging in a Simple Package

Do you want your electrical system to perform at its full potential? Poor connections and undersized cables often mean that many boats only achieve a fraction of their possible charging capacity. That’s why we’ve developed two complete Power Kits containing the most essential components – carefully matched to the size of your battery bank.

With the Skyllermarks Power Kit, you’ll get a high-quality electrical system that often doubles the charging performance compared to standard installations. The solution is also easy to install – simply measure your cable lengths, order pre-crimped cables, and fasten them to the connection points. A durable and reliable setup from the very start.

If you have a larger battery bank with multiple batteries, you can easily expand the system by adding more bus bars for a safe and logical connection layout.

Advantages of Power Kit 2:

  • Ready-made connection points – easy to install and understand
  • Often provides double charging efficiency compared to simple setups
  • Tailored to your battery bank size – no unnecessary components
  • Outstanding durability with robust and proven components

Installation Tip

Use a string to measure the cable lengths between connection points – a quick and accurate way to determine the correct lengths before ordering your pre-crimped cables.

If your battery bank includes several batteries, it’s easy to expand the system by adding more battery terminals, ensuring a clean, safe, and professional-grade connection.

Questions & Answers

Are there any requirements, e.g., the boat’s alternator or similar, for this solution to work? How is it ensured that the starter battery is not drawn from when the engine is off?

What is required of your alternator is that you can tap into D+ to control the relay, which all alternators have.
However, it may have a different designation, but you can find possible designations here: Alternator connections.
It is the terminal labeled “Magnetization (charge indicator lamp).”

Regarding ensuring that the starter battery is not drawn from or discharged when the engine is off, it works like this:
When the alternator is about to start, D+ receives an excitation current. A cable is connected there that controls the relay. When there is voltage there, the relay receives a signal and then closes, which means all batteries receive charging. When you then turn off the engine, the voltage on D+ disappears and the relay opens. This means the circuit to the house batteries is broken and the starter battery is then disconnected from the consumer battery and all loads, and therefore cannot be discharged.
