Optimise your battery bank
Avoid overcharging with the right battery connection
The charging should preferably run diagonally through the battery bank, that is, positive to the first and negative to the last battery in the bank.
This is to ensure that the batteries are charged as evenly as possible. Consumption also runs diagonally through the battery bank. This becomes easier if the battery bank is assembled in one place.
In a parallel connection, each battery limits its own charging through its internal resistance. All chargers, such as the generator and solar panels, should charge, preferably at the same time. Check that the voltage does not exceed the battery manufacturer’s recommendations.
A rule of thumb is to never exceed 14.4 V to avoid overcharging.
